About Us
Founded in 2002 by NYC-based Physical therapist and Pilates teacher Ian Mari Micabalo, Corework Pilates Davao has been a leader in bringing to Davao City the innovative approaches to movement rehabilitation known as the Pilates Method.
Why Corework Pilates?
We believe that the work of pilates comes from the “core” the powerhouse of the body.
The “powerhouse” is the musculature at the center of the body, including the abdominals, lower back, hips, inner thighs, and pelvic floor.
This area is considered the body’s core and is the origin of all movement, providing stability and strength for the entire body.
Our Mission
At our studio, we believe in harnessing the power of Pilates to enhance health and wellness for everyone.
Our mission is to create a welcoming environment where individuals of all backgrounds can explore their potential, build strength, and connect with their bodies.
We’re dedicated to promoting a balanced lifestyle through mindful movement and community support.
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a method of body conditioning taught originally by its creator Joseph Pilates, known to be an innovator and one of the founders of modern day movement science and Physical Therapy.
Originally taught only to recuperating soldiers of World War I and the greatest dancers of the Broadway era during the early 40’s, it has now been endorsed by most Physical therapists including the American Physical Therapy Association as a mainstream field of body conditioning.
